From Val d’Aran by UTMB®, we share the general concern about Covid-19 ‘s outbreak. Above all, we want to show our support to all those people and communities that are suffering the illness or one of its collateral damages. Moreover, we want to thank all those professionals that are working hard in the front line to combat this crisis.
Information about Covid-19 changes every day and, as organizers of Val d’Aran by UTMB®, we are looking after the directives and advices from our health authorities. We are in constant touch with them and at their disposal.
As of today (March 15th), there are still more than 3 months to celebrate our races, and for that reason we keep on working normally, from home, to celebrate them. In this moment, we do not have in mind cancelling nor postponing them. We continue to evaluate the situation constantly, together with Aran Salut (local health authority) and Departament de Salut de la Generalitat de Catalunya (government). At the beginning of May, and evaluating the situation, we will take the appropriate decisions and measures, prioritizing the security and health of our runners, supporters and public.
Notwithstanding, in light of the current situation and with the objective to release from unnecessary work our health professionals, we extend the medical certificates’ delivery period until June 5th.
Our priority is and will be the safety of our runners, supporters, volunteers and public; same as in all events in UTMB® family.
For all these reasons, we will keep very attentive on the situation’s evolution, we will keep all our information channels open, and will communicate immediately all news.
It is important to follow the advice and protocols suggested by health authorities (basic protective measures by WHO). Together, we can solve this crisis.
