A perfect race to enjoy the amazing views of all the valley and the majesty of the roof of the Pyrenees, going through high mountain single tracks.
There is no place more magical and with more historic background than Pla de Beret. A great plateau at 1.860 meters above sea level and about 4km long, that in winter becomes a snow sports centre and in summer, cattle graze freely. Former area of witches’ covens, and with archaeological remains of the Bronze Age. Birth of two rivers; the Garonne, which flows into the French Atlantic, and the Noguera Pallaresa, which flows into the Mediterranean. A plateau covered with snow more than half a year, that in summer explodes with intense green colours and the mountains watching it.
Starting there, the SKY Baqueira Beret will take you through Parros’ valley to Cap de Clòsos (2.418 masl), to enjoy one of the best views of Val d’Aran. You will continue running through the ridge and crossing several peaks until you ascend to Cap dera Sèrra (2.248m). All the time you will be accompanied by awesome views over the central mountains of the Pyrenees, with the Aneto in the background (highest peak in the Pyrenees). In Cap dera Sèrra you will find one of the aid stations and Blanhiblar’s chairlift. This chairlift and its bar will be open during the race and supporters will be able to go up to watch their runners pass and encourage them. From Cap dera Sèrra, you will only need to go down again towards Pla de Beret. 15km and 800m of ascent by the heights of Pla de Beret.
Moreover, during the race, the Trail Festival Baqueira Beret will be taking place in the departure and arrival area, so you will be able to enjoy a perfect day for all the family and friends. Oh! And Beret is also a passing point for VDA 162km runners, so stay and encourage all participants who will carry already more than 100km on their legs!
